Most people you speak to who are married say the day was amazing, best day ever, wonderful, loved it and would love to do it again with their partner.
What they don't say it you spend a wad of cash for about 5 hours of fun and a year of stress, family feuds and worry.
Now would that happen if you eloped and celebrated in Europe? I mean $30k can go a long way.... Especially when 1 in 4 ends in divorce. Who'd bet $30k on that stat?!

Now it is too late for me. I'm getting married. Spending the doe and am stressed about every inch of the wedding planning process: lose weight, bridesmaid dress, wedding cake, what flowers do you like, wedding music, table arrangements, cars, photographer, honeymoon (the better part of planning) family, rings, styling, dress, hens.... kitchen tea... I'm tired already and I am missing things.
Why aren't our parents selling eloping? I will. Cheaper, easier, less stress..... Did I mention cheaper?
I think we all do the big day because we watch too many movies and because no one is prepared to be honest. Don't do it - run away to the country you plan to start your honeymoon in and get married there. Your likely to be so drunk you don't remember anyway - so may as well start where you plan to honeymoon!
You can even afford to pay for people to come! $30k goes a long way.
I will now preach eloping - I want you to save money learn from my mistake and have a great day.... So let me wave you off at the airport with this advice...elope, enjoy, and save!
